Flame Retardant Paint
Time To Get Out!

A flame-retardant paint is designed to upgrade wood to a higher fire class.

Move from grade D to B

Wood has a natural fire class of D, but this can be improved to a B with flame-retardant paint or varnish. Wood is a flexible, sustainable and beautiful construction material and it can be treated with our flame retardant coatings to achieve a B-s1,d0 fire classification indoors. Our flame retardant paints are all water based, tested for Indoor Air Emissions, CE-marked and have an EPD. They are renowned for being easy to apply and they come with a full set of documents to prove their performance.

Iris CHAR 17

This paint is designed for wood substrates indoors and tested to B-s1, d0. The thin, clear film swells in case of fire to a coherent char. Application on polymers has also been tested. The CHAR 17 coating system includes a waterborne intumescent clearcoat applied in 2 coats to 300 µm WFT and a solvent-borne clear topcoat providing resistance to moisture and the environment.
